About Scott MacEwen

Scott MacEwen has spent most of his life as a traditional and graphic artist, with works ranging from CD and book covers to sports art and portraits. Influenced by his parents from early age, who were both artists as well, Scott graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art with a Bachelor’s Degree in Illustration, Graphics and Painting. Notable works include a hand painted Miller Lite boxing mat for ESPN, historical maps, fine art paintings and hand painted portraits matted with authentic autographs for one-of-a-kind displays. My sports art is in the collection of many professional athletes and Hall-of-Famers along with a presentation football in the collection of ex-Viking owner and business mogul Red McCombs.

As an artist, Scott strives to interpret the human spirit as well as nature’s beauty. His inspiration comes from a lifelong love of history, sports, the thrill of victory, the agony of defeat, beautiful Texas Missions and the soul of humans and animals. From oil paint, colored pencil, pen and ink to watercolor and acrylic, Scott can be found in his studio striving for perfection, or out in the field painting on-site to capture nature and history first hand with the challenges of ever changing light, weather and Texas red ants!
